Daniela K. Shields, D.M.D. has been dedicated to endodontics since completing her residency at the University of Louisville in 1995. After earning her D.M.D. degree from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 1992, Dr. Shields continued her training with a General Practice Residency at the VA Hospital in Louisville. She went on to complete her Endodontic Residency and later served as faculty at the University of Louisville until 1996.
Originally from New England, Dr. Shields moved to Kentucky after completing her studies at Mt. Holyoke College in 1986. During her time at the Price Institute for Surgical Research, she met her future husband, Dr. Eric Shields, a Paducah native. The couple married in 1991 and now have two children, Parker and Alli. When she's not in the practice, Dr. Shields enjoys spending time with her family, whether it's cooking, traveling, or enjoying outdoor activities like hunting.

Dr Shields discovered a tooth needing a root canal that previous dentists could not find! It was the source of my husband’s sinus infection. She performed a quick and painless root canal & we were out in an hour, start to finish! She’s quite awesome!
Incredibly kind and thoughtful staff! I called for an appointment and had one the next day. They took such great care of my child. She was a little nervous, and they talked both of us through the entire appointment. Dr. Daniela Shields worked so fast and efficiently.
Dr Shields is an excellent Endodontis. She tells you everything she does. I had a root canal in 2021. No pain. Had to have another root canal Sept 2025. No pain. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I recommend her to everyone.
Couldn't ask for a better experience - Just had a root canal and the experience was a breeze. First time to this office. I was taken back as soon as I finished filling out the paperwork. I had an X-ray taken and Dr. Shields came in immediately. She looked at the X-ray and explained everything she saw in great detail. Getting me numb is usually a process due to prior jaw surgery but Dr. Shields got me numb on the first try. Everything was a breeze after that. Dr. Shields put me completely at ease from the get go. I have had several root canals in the past in Dallas and Detroit. I would say this was the best endodontic experience I have ever had.
